Mark this date on your calendar: Friday, December 10. That's when the MTN Member Appreciation Party and Live Show comes to MTN's Studio A. The festivities begin at 7 p.m. The party goes live on MTN 17 from 8:30 to 9:00, so even if you can't make it out to MTN you can celebrate along at home! There will be food and drinks to mark the occasion. During the live show portion, MTN producers are invited to take the microphone for a minute or so to promote their show. If you want to promote your show at the event, please talk to John when you get to the party. He'll have a sign-up sheet. Also, before the live show begins, MTN director Pam Colby will give an update on MTN's future, the city's study of an MTN merger, and the renegotiations of the cable franchise deal with Time Warner cable. If you want to perform music at the party, contact John in advance. We are looking for instrumental background music to keep us in a merry mood. If you want to sign up for a half hour time slot to perform, contact John Akre prior to the event, either at jakre@mtn.org or at 612-331-8575 extension 307. It is first come, first scheduled, so please act now! Let's celebrate the past, present and future of public access in Minneapolis, and celebrate the great people who make the shows that make the whole city sit up and pay attention.
